The day I met my love I was a 14 year old girl that went to my local ice cream shoppe. He and a friend followed me and my friend practically all the way home. My friend and I decided to stop and talk to these boys and thus was the beginning of my destiny.

Although we became fast friends, I was not interested in him in a romantic way. We developed a long time friendship and I was always impressed by his acknowledgement of me whenever we saw each other, as the years past.

Seven years went by and we both had our share of relationships and heartbreaks. We graduated high school and were going to college when a moment in time brought us together again. His cousin was having a Memorial Day celebration and I miraculously had met this young man a week earlier. I was invited to this party and like any single 21 year old decided to attend. It was here I met my love again.

We saw each other and immediately played catch up. Still I was not drawn to him romantically; however, I did enjoy his company. As we were always friends first, we started getting together in and with a large group of friends.

I certainly enjoyed spending time with my love but was interested in dating other men, also. The evening I came to realize that he was my forever love I was actually at a wedding with another suitor. After being rather disappointed in the way I was treated during that celebration, it became clear to me that this man, that was indeed willing to let me pursue others, was truly the one for me!

We became exclusive soon thereafter and have been together for 36 years. My love means every thing to me. He has given me a wonderful life, two beautiful children, which have given us joy beyond our imagination. We now have two more children, through marriage and our four incredible grandchildren! As we enter the next phase of our love story, I look happily forward. My love and I have been blessed and hope to continue living a beautiful, meaningful life together nurturing our relationship each day.

Adding to our love story and family, after writing this particular piece, we were blessed with our fourth, little love. She came into our lives on May 21, 2020 and we feel blessed!!!
