My name is Lisa, aka…mamadelvec. I am in my late 50’s and have been married to the love of my life for 35 years. We have two grown children, plus their spouses, also we are grandparents of three with one on the way in May, 2020.

I grew up in Rhode Island. I went to college in RI and raised our family there. Nine years ago I took a leap of faith, with my love. We moved from our home State of Rhode Island to our new home in Colorado. It was a scary process but one I do not regret.

Moving to Colorado has taught me that I’m braver than I give myself credit for. I went completely out of my comfort zone and have met some wonderful friends. I now travel on airplanes without my significant other and feel secure in my decision to start this blog!

Looking back at my life, I realize I have so very much to be grateful for. I had a typical childhood with parents that loved and provided for me. Being the youngest of four, gave me the designated label – “baby” of the family for life. My siblings include a brother and two sisters. We may not have had everything but I never doubted my family’s love. I always was provided every opportunity to succeed, in whatever I pursued.

Having my own family taught me many things. First, as a partner; a give and take scenario where each one brings different beliefs to the table and we try to decide which ones we will implement into our own family. Second, the coming of children; that part of life which makes you realize that you are totally responsible for raising other humans; shaping them into individuals, with values and morals. Finally, the time in life when you can take on a few different roles, perhaps try something new, like this blog.
