Never in my lifetime did I expect to be involved in a pandemic. After all, this is the United States of America! I never thought I would have to live in fear from being around my friends and neighbors. All of this is frankly, unnerving.

I am trying to stay calm and attend to my every day routine. I have been staying in touch with my family and friends through phone and video calling. I have a good book to read and some binge watching to attend to but these can not replace spending time with others.

It has only been six days since I was with my sister’s spending a week together in sunny Florida; however, that trip seems to have happened last year. I truly believe that this pandemic is going to last several months and people are going to start to come unhinged.

As time passes and we become more secluded, let’s look to the positives in our lives. Be thankful for every one who brings you joy! I am so thankful for my smart, calm husband who has always been my port in the storm. He assures me that we will get back to doing the things we enjoy; dinners out, parties with friends, traveling etc. I have no reason to doubt him because he has never stirred me wrong. I am grateful for my children, their spouses and our precious grandchildren! Also I am grateful for my family and friends, without them I am not me.

So pandemic or not, be grateful, because this too shall pass and soon we will be living our lives again. Lives we certainly should not take for granted!!
